Chris is a uniquely strong strategic thinker, with a sustainable design philosophy that he employs to create unique and functional design outcomes for clients. His excellent communication and interpersonal skills give him a natural ability to manage projects that benefit from community and stakeholder engagement.
Leading a studio that delivers a complex multi-stakeholder projects across the full spectrum from briefing to masterplanning and implementing delivery, Chris’ recent projects include tertiary and large-scale commercial precincts. Both focussed and relaxed, his personality enables him to lead and collaborate within a team. Likewise, his strong technical skills allow him to provide rigorous support through all phases of a project. Now focussed on Auckland’s City Rail Link (CRL), Chris is applying his management strength to build teams and engage with clients and stakeholders, whilst applying his breadth of experience to help deliver this essential development for Auckland’s transport network.
As a member of the project teams that delivered the award-winning Sovereign House and ASB’s C: Drive, one of Chris’ most challenging clients was Jasmax itself! Delivering our 2 Marston Street offices to a tight timeframe and an expectant brief, the project has been a success that we’re still benefitting from today.
Chris was recently the design team leader on both the City Campus refurbishment projects for the University Of Auckland Faculty Of Engineering Buildings B403-404, and the Newmarket Engineering Research Centre. In addition, he and his team have recently completed the Bay of Plenty International Cricket Pavilion. With this experience also in the sports and recreation sector, Chris has a broad perspective on design that helps him to create solutions that often transcend typical boundaries.
