Marko is the Managing Principal at Jasmax. Strategically and creatively driven, Marko skilfully manages to provide both high-level company guidance and lead his own studio team. Marko has 23 years’ experience in the architectural industry and joined Jasmax in 1993, becoming a Principal in 2004. He is passionate about delivering services that surpass clients’ expectations, and is committed to ensuring this focus is shared throughout the company.
Marko and his studio team deliver complex projects across the tertiary education, infrastructure, health and urban sectors. His creative design skills and proactive, communicative approach create a project delivery process that is clear, organised and enjoyable. He genuinely thrives on enabling the success and wellbeing of others – both staff and clients – and encourages his teams to constantly grow, innovate and be creative.
Marko's studio team are presently focussed on working with The University of Auckland to develop a new campus at Newmarket and redevelop the research and teaching facilities for the Faculty of Engineering; both there and at the Symonds St Campus, the completion of a ten year re-development of Waikato Hospital and the transformative mixed-use Merchant Quarter development in New Lynn.
Marko has been an industry leader in the area of sustainability, leading project teams on the design of early, integrated design process projects with low energy objectives, such as at AUTs Akoranga Campus.
A member of the Establishment Board of the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) and his continued leadership of Jasmax’s environmental practices, he has a focus on delivering sustainable buildings for clients, improving Jasmax’s internal business practices and educating the wider community.
As Managing Principal, Marko uses these same passions and skills to provide leadership over the company’s operations and strategic direction based on a culture where people are central and innovation and clarity is encouraged.
