Tamaki Redevelopment Company is a pioneering venture established jointly by the Crown and Auckland Council to deliver regeneration of the Tāmaki Area. Regeneration aims to provide and build on the things people and communities need in their lives to be well, to prosper and to grow.
Jasmax, in association with designTRIBE, is creating the first Neighbourhood Plans and concept designs for housing, open spaces, an early childhood centre and community rooms.
Our design approach has been to connect and draw together the neighbourhoods, making the most of opportunities and underused assets, and providing new homes with minimal disruption to residents. Engagement has been central to this process, with our team involved in discussions with community, landowners and funders.
This approach aims for a design which supports a range of positive social outcomes around connectivity, safer environments for children,
and homes that are healthy and comfortable. As a Special Housing Area the design is subject to the Auckland Unitary Plan, which requires high standards of urban design and housing performance. Jasmax is working with the primary landowner, Housing New Zealand Corporation, to prepare Framework Plan consents and to assist development delivery partners.
